Central Plant

At Stueven Engineering, we understand systems engineering as it applies to central heating and cooling processes to the overall building comfort/environmental conditioning. We determine the facility owner/user's requirements and budget conditions in order to meet project specific heating/cooling demands. Our methods include detailed analysis of the building loads and profiles for heating and cooling, and hydronic analysis by utilizing computerized simulation programs. Our experience includes:

  • Chilled Water - air cooled and water cooled chillers; primary/secondary and variable primary systems
  • Heating Water - gas-fired boilers and steam systems
  • Thermal Energy Storage (TES) - ice and water storage systems
  • Controls and algorithms for heating/cooling plant sequence of operations
  • Energy studies for alternative plant systems
